Abbas got two wickets for Pakistan, while Naseem, Imad, and Shaheen all got one wicket.

Before this, Pakistan, batting first at Ireland’s request, made 182 runs in the 20 overs allowed while losing six wickets. Azam and Shadab were dismissed after scoring zero runs, while Pakistan captain Babar scored 57, Saeem Ayub scored 45, Fakhar scored 20, and M. Rizwan scored 1. Shaheen made 14 runs to return to the pavilion undefeated, while Iftikhar Ahmed scored 37.

For Ireland, Craig took two wickets, while Delaney and Mark both took one.

Babar Azam criticized Pakistan’s first Twenty20 International match loss on Ireland’s weak bowling and fielding. First Time Ireland Defeated Pakistan in a T20 International Match

Speaking in the post-match presentation, Babar mentioned that the team failed to execute their plans effectively, especially in the opening overs. Despite scoring 182 runs batting first, Babar felt that he was lacking in the bowling and fielding departments.

“We didn’t start well in the first six overs; the pitch was a bit slow, and there was a bit of bounce.” After that, we recovered well and scored 182, but I think 190 was an even score. But I think that we lost because of that. In bowling and fielding, we didn’t execute our plans, and there were some errors in the field, which cost us.

Pakistan made a promising start with two early wickets defending their target, but the partnership of Andrew Balburnie and Harry Tector turned the game around for Ireland. Shaheen Afridi was eventually able to dismiss Balberney, but contributions from other Irish batsmen, such as George Dockrell, were instrumental in their victory.

On May 12, the two teams will play the second match of the series.
